Athletic Training (MSAT)

任何本科专业或本科院校的学生都可以申请入读本研究生课程. In order to be considered for admission, the following are required:

Chatham Graduate Application or 网上申请

1. A baccalaureate degree (or pending degree) from a regionally accredited four-year institution
   • Official transcripts from all institutions where the student has taken courses. 总平均成绩达到3分的学生优先.GPA在3分以下的学生.可以考虑有条件录取.)
     
2. Short writing sample or essay highlighting the following; why you want to be an athletic trainer, 运动教练是做什么的, lastly, 运动教练在哪里工作?请阐述传统的工作/环境以及职业向非运动环境的演变(300字限制). or 提交在经认证的运动教练监督下40小时的临床观察记录. 
   
   
3. 两封推荐信:
   • 一封由认证/有执照的运动教练写的信
   • 一封学术顾问或指导老师的信 any health science professional (may be another certified/licensed athletic trainer)
4. Completion of the following courses (or their equivalents) with grades of C or better:
   • Human Anatomy with lab*
   • Physiology*
   • 统计学或生物统计学(如果教学大纲显示统计学的基础知识，其他课程也可以满足要求)
   • Biology I with lab
   • Chemistry I with lab
   • Physics I with lab (courses that satisfy this requirement include Biomechanics and Kinesiology)
   • General Psychology (any 100 level or higher psychology course will suffice)

6. 成功完成面试
   • Applicants will be invited to complete an on-campus or virtual interview

Program Design

The Master of Science in Athletic Training is a five semester, 67 credit, full-time degree program with clinical experiences imbedded within each of the five semesters. 课程内容通过以学生为中心和参与式学习为基础的各种方法来交付.

• Goal 1: Provide educational experiences tailored to developing the cognitive, behavioral and psychomotor skills necessary for successful Athletic Training practice.  
  • Objective 1.1: Demonstrate evidence-based clinical decision making in the areas of prevention/screening, evaluation and diagnosis, immediate and emergency care, treatment and rehabilitation.
